Coos Bay, OR- The Coos Bay
Surfrider chapter will be at Bastendorff Beach on Saturday, December 19th from 10am to noon.
They will provide gloves, buckets, and bags. Les’ Sanitary has generously
offered to dispose of the garbage free of charge, and Bayside Coffee Roasting
will be donating coffee.
Bastendorff Beach provides a place for locals and visitors alike to
experience the great outdoors and the power of the sea. It is a spot that most
have us hold very dear and feel proud of. Lately, it has seen some hard use by
visitors, locals, and transients alike. Litter has been piling up in the
fore-dunes, along the road, and on the beach itself. In addition, the latest
storms have washed up many yards of Styrofoam and plastic that originated
outside of our area. We need to band together, rain or shine, and be strong
stewards of our favorite beach!
