On Saturday, December 19th, some of the jazz
faculty at Umpqua Community College known as “Moment’s
Notice” will present a concert at the Presbyterian Church, 2360 Longwood in
Reedsport. Time of performance is 6:00pm and tickets are
available at the door for $10, those under 18 will be admitted free.
Moment’s Notice is a faculty jazz group
featuring trumpeter, John Gronberg, guitarist Ross Hanson, bassist, Jason Heald
and percussionist Clint Newell. While there is a Christmas seasonal
aspect, the ensemble’s repertoire covers styles from hot swing to cool Latin
jazz and contemporary jazz/rock fusion
The event is co-sponsored by Rising Tide
Live! and Coastal Douglas Arts and Business Alliance and is one of several productions
that CDABA has brought to Coastal Douglas this year. All proceeds will go
to benefit the UCC Music Program and to a newly formed Coastal Douglas Boy
Scout Chapter.
