Pet Blessing Service at Unity By The Bay October 4

      In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, Unity By The Bay invites you to bring your pet(s) to church with you for a special blessing at their 10am Sunday service on  October 4th. 

     All animals will be welcomed into the sanctuary, including all 4-H animals – furry, feathered, or wooly!  We request that pets be leashed or in a carrier or cage.  This includes birds, fish, ducks, guinea pigs, etc.  Everyone  is responsible for  their own  clean-up, so come prepared! 
     This year there will be “fashion show and special birthday treats” for our animal attendees.  The Sunday lesson will be a metaphysical look at the children's book, Digby Takes Charge.
     If your  pet  does not play well with others,  bring  a picture  and  they will be blessed from afar. Join us for this special service honoring our animal companions and the joys they share with us!
     Additionally, at Unity By The Bay:  October is “Feed the Pets” month.  All month long, October will be a time to gather pet food, treats and other items needed to help animals who are in the Coos County Animal Shelter.  The Shelter is always in need of blankets and will accept dry food that has already been opened.  A collection box is available in the Fellowship Hall.
