BROWNFIELDS ACTION COMMITTEE OPENINGS

The City of Coos Bay is seeking volunteers to fill openings on the Brownfields Action Committee (BAC).  Applications and information are available from the City Manager’s Office during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, by calling 541-269-8912, or on the City’s website at www.coos.bay.org   Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22nd.  Applicants will be contacted for interviews, and appointments will be made by the City Council at the November 3rd regular council meeting.

The role of the BAC will be to assist staff and the Council in determining outcomes for the Front Street Brownfields Projects and to assist in the implementation of the grant.  It is anticipated the committee will meet frequently in the beginning and as needed thereafter.

Brownfields Action Committee – The Brownfields Action Committee was established by the City Council on September 15, 2015 by adoption of Resolution 15-18, and it consists of up to nine (9) members.  Appointments to the Committee are made by the City Council and are until the committee is disbanded which is believed to be for a duration of up to three (3) years.  All members shall be City residents.  Members residing outside the City, but who own property within the City are considered to have a residential status.  The Committee meets on an as-needed basis.
