Inaugural Trail-n-Treat 5k Run/Walk and Kid’s Dash

South Slough Trail-n-Treat Run

5k run/walk , Bonus Kids(12 and under) dash
Kid’s dash: 10:00 am
5k mile run/walk: 10:30 am
Kids dash: free
5k mile run/walk: $15.00 ($12.00 for SCRC members and students ages 13-17)
Race will be held at the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve Interpretive Center, 4 miles south of Charleston, 61907 Seven Devils Road. Run where the river meets the sea, along vast tidal flats, extensive
marshes and meandering channels.
Proceeds from the event go to the
Friends of South Slough Reserve, Inc., a non-profit organization in support of
Reserve education fund for internship stipends.
Participation ribbons for kid’s
dash, 1st-3rd place for each age group male/female (3 mile run/walk) with South Slough swag awarded
to overall 5k mile run and walk male and female winners. All participants receive an estuary-themed
participation medal and Rice Krispy treat.
Music on the lawn to follow.
An adult race t-shirt shirt will be available
for an additional $16.00, a children’s for $10.00. T-shirt order must be
received by September 9th in order to ensure availability. Additional shirts will be available on race
day but limited to stock on hand.
This course is on Reserve
property. Volunteers will be stationed along the trails and courses will be
clearly marked to make your experience more enjoyable. Please leave pets at
home.
