Oregon Coast Culinary Institute to Host 6th Annual New Year’s Eve Ball
Coos Bay, OR – Southwestern Oregon Community College and The Oregon Coast Culinary
Institute (OCCI) will host its 6th annual New Year’s Eve Ball on December
31, 2015.
This year features a “Steampunk” theme. Festivities for those 21-years
and older begin at 8:30 pm and include gourmet food, DJ and dancing,
no-host ice bar, silent auction, and a New Year’s countdown complete with a
champagne toast. Tickets are $40.00 in advance and last year the party sold
out!
The ball is
sponsored by the Culinary Club with all proceeds going towards sending Chef
Instructor Chris Foltz and four students to compete at the January 2016
National Ice Carving Association’s U.S. National Collegiate Championships in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The students have been training
for several months for this competition. OCCI is one of the few schools
in the country that offers students a chance to learn the art of ice
sculpting. The competition also serves to highlight the unique
opportunities available to the students of OCCI and Southwestern Oregon Community College that cannot be found elsewhere.
