EOTSC20160202 Oregon Battle of the Books



2016 Bay Area Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) Civil Competition-
Coos Bay and North Bend High Schools' OBOB teams face off at a civil competition Wednesday, February 3rd at 3 p.m. in the large meeting room of the North Bend Public Library.
OBOB is a voluntary reading program for students grades 3rd – 12th. The program is for students who welcome academic challenges. OBOB is designed to develop reading comprehension for lifelong learning and to promote teamwork. Books are chosen and questions selected for each age group. Students read and discuss the books to prepare for aquiz show type competition. Teams compete at local, district, regional and state levels. A civil competition is an opportunity to practice with a local rivalry team.
The OBOB project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oregon Association of School Librarians and Oregon State Library.
