“Open Season” for Special Use Permit Applicants and Permit Holders
Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest is implementing an “Open
Season” for processing permit
re-authorizations and new permit requests for recreation-based use
of National Forest System lands.
Completed applications will be accepted from October 15 to January 15.
The open season pertains to all recreation events, resorts,
recreation residences and outfitter or guided activities proposed to occur from
January 1 through December 31 of the following year. Applications accepted during this open season
will be date stamped and evaluated in the order they are received. Tools to assist you in completing your 2016
proposal can be found on our website at:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/rogue-siskiyou/passes-permits.
(1) State any factors
related to the urgency of the project, if applicable
(2) Prioritize your
proposals if more than one proposal is being submitted
(3) State proposed dates
for implementation
(4) Recognize that if the
forest is already working on another project for your or your company/agency,
acceptance and analysis of additional proposals may be deferred.
It will take 6-8 weeks for the initial review of the application
package. When the application is
submitted, two actions can occur: 1) the applications will be accepted and a
detailed evaluation process will continue or 2) the application will not be
accepted.
For requests that are received after January 15, we will return them with notice to re-submit during the next open season period. For additional information, contact the Rogue River-Siskiyou Supervisors Office at 541-618-2066.
