ODFW to host
public meetings on commercial nearshore fishery
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will discuss
the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at a public
meeting at the Port Orford Library,on Thursday,
Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include:
- Review of the 2015 season to date
- Process and options for setting 2016 regulations
- Input from industry and others interested in 2016 commercial nearshore fishery state management
- Pacific Fishery Management Council update including stock assessment results for 2017–18 specifications for:
- black rockfish
- China rockfish
- kelp greenling
