HOLIDAY LIGHTS AT SHORE ACRES –
Preparations have been underway for several weeks for the 29th annual Holiday
Lights at Shore Acres
State Park which will open on
November 26th . Last year an estimated 45,558 visitors viewed the lights
display and enjoyed the refreshments in the beautiful decorated Garden House
and the entertainment in the Performance Pavilion. This community event is
sponsored by Friends of Shore Acres, Inc. in partnership with Shore
Acres State Park.
It takes many helping hands to string the estimated 325,000 lights and decorate
the many Christmas trees located throughout the park. Several of those helping
hands belonged to City employees who volunteered their time to prepare
decorations and to decorate the Coos Bay
tree. Hat’s off to Jessica Spann, Debbie Frankenberger, Denise Bowers, Pam
Patton, and Nik Rapelje for demonstrating your community spirit by preparing
the decorations! A special thanks to Nik Rapelje and her husband RJ, along with
Jessica Span and her husband Sam and their children Cole and Cameron who
decorated the tree for us all to enjoy.
