Party Like an Egyptian on Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 pm. You are invited to attend the final
event of the Egyptian Theatre’s 90th Birthday week-end and enjoy a special
line-up of birthday party treats on Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 pm. Lifetime
Coos Bay
area resident and well-known local historian Lionel Youst will share
recollections of the theatre and its place in Coos
Bay’s life for the last 90 years.
There will also be a notto-be-missed short film highlighting the Coos
Bay area’s finest features that was
filmed for business development in 1929 - the era of the Egyptian’s opening.
This old black and white feature is a rarely viewed glimpse into life on the
bay in the late 1920s when lumber, coal, agriculture, and fishing were the
newly marketable means of commerce. Finally, guests will celebrate with a
special birthday cake unveiling which was designed, constructed, and baked by
Chef Frank Murphy and the North Bend High School Culinary Class of 2015
complete with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ accompanied on the Mighty
Wurlitzer organ. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 pm, and plan to spend a festive afternoon
at the Egyptian Theatre’s 90th Birthday Party!
