REMEMBRANCE CEREMONIES & THE EMPTY CHAIR
As
we head into the holiday season we look forward to a variety of family, faith,
and community activities. Often, each of us has a role in these cherished
traditions. But when a loved one passes, they leave a hole. A chair at the table is empty.
Empty
chairs change holiday traditions and the reality of loved ones gone before us
becomes very evident. Many desire to find ways to continue to include these
family members and friends this time of year.
For
those who wish to honor the memory of a loved one, South Coast Hospice is
holding “Winter Remembrance” ceremonies in Coos Bay,
Bandon and Reedsport this December. It’s an opportunity to
share in the remembrance and celebration of the lives of those who were so very
important to us. There will be beautiful harp music, refreshments and the
lighting of candles. South Coast Hospice Chaplain, John Sheese, will be guiding
the ceremonies and those who wish to share their loved ones names and/or
stories will be welcomed. Attendees can bring a 4” x 6” or smaller photo that will
be displayed prominently. Everyone is invited to attend these free events.
Bandon’s
event will take place on Monday, December 7th, at the Barn Community Center
in City Park.
