Fire, police, SAR, sheriff, & public service teams compete to make the best chili in Coos county! Music, raffles, silent auction, prizes, & fun! Sample the entries & enjoy the Posse’s chili, sides & desserts. 
All proceeds benefit the Coos County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse and Coos County Search and Rescue organizations.
$5 for adults, $3 for kids, $1 for desserts

Coos Bay Public Library will be offering an INTRODUCTION TO THE INTERNET BROWSER class for novice computer users.  The class will be held on Friday, April 8th, from 9:30am to 11:00am at the library’s Internet computers (entrance at 9:15am). 
This class is for computer novices who need help in learning how to use the Internet.  The class will cover the most important features of a browser, how to use an Internet address, and will also discuss first steps and tips for easier use.  Attendees should be comfortable using a computer mouse. 
Seating is limited so pre-registration is required.  The sign-up sheet is available at the Reference Desk in the Library.  There is no admission charged.  Please call 269-1101 for further information on this program.

Coos Bay Public Library will be offering its monthly LIBRARY2GO WORKSHOP for downloading free eBooks and audiobooks. The workshop will be held Monday, April 4th, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm in the Coos Bay Library's Cedar Room. Come in any time before 1:45pm. Registration is not required.
This workshop is intended for eBook/audiobook users who wish to practice with instructors present. There will be no formal lecture but help will be available in case you have problems, questions, or just need help getting started.
Prerequisite: Attendees must have a Coastline library card, email address, and their own device or laptop that has the ability to connect to a wireless network (you can use the library's wireless network). Note: Kindle users will need to have registered their device with Amazon prior to workshop. This is a FREE workshop. The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds all across North America. Established in 2001 by author T.A. Barron, the Barron Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, or the environment. The top fifteen winners each receive $5,000 to support their service work or higher education. Applications are accepted online only and are due by April 15, 2016. EOTSC20160320 CB POWER SQUADRON - ABC CLASS



The COOS BAY POWER SQUADRON will be putting on our ABC CLASS, starting March 21 2016. This is the first class in the Education Series that is offered by THE UNITED STATES POWER SQUADRON. The class is designed for NEW & EXISTING BOATERS, and meets the requirement to qualify to get THE OREGON BOATERS EDUCATION CARD, that is required to operate a boat over 10 hp. The class will meet March 21,24,28,31 and April 4th, starting at 6:30 pm for 2 hours. The class will be at the Coos Bay Power Squadron Building - 90346 Guano Rock Lane in the Boat Basin / Charleston. EOTSC20160325 SOLVE - Beach Cleanup



On Saturday, March 26, thousands of Oregonians will mobilize across the state to scour beaches for wayward litter and debris washed in from winter storms. Presented by AAA Oregon, the SOLVE Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup will take place from 10am to 1pm. SOLVE welcomes families, schools, business groups, and volunteers of all ages to join together in clearing the entire Oregon Coast of trash.
